“Pillow Melodies” is an interactive musical event for babies and young children aged 6 months to 3 years. Through songs, rhythm, games, movement, dance, and listening to high-quality music, little ones develop their natural musical potential — with joy, confidence, and without pressure.
Together we will sing, imitate animals, dance like cats, play children’s musical instruments, travel to distant cultures through African songs, and relax with the gentle sounds of classical music.
The event is designed to follow the natural way children learn — through observation, play, and imitation. Parents are an active part of the experience, as they are the most important musical role models for their children.

“Pillow Melodies” is suitable for children aged 6 months to 3 years and their parents. No previous musical experience is required.
The Host
Hello, my name is Tsvetelina Galeva. I am a musician and mother of two daughters. I have been involved with music since childhood — I play the piano and sing in a choir. I studied at the National School of Music and later at the National Academy of Music in Sofia.
I am deeply grateful to my teachers for everything they taught me and for their dedication. I remember admiring their work and wishing that one day I too would be able to inspire others with a love for music.
Alongside music, since my high school years I have also been interested in child development — its different stages, psychology, and approaches to early childhood development, including musical development. Creating my own family has given me the true joy of witnessing and supporting the growth of my children firsthand.
To share the art of music with the youngest children — these pure, spontaneous, and authentic creators in the making — is, for me, one of the most beautiful and meaningful callings.

MUSIC: A NATURAL ABILITY
Musical ability is just as natural to human beings as walking and speaking. All children are born with musical potential, and when they grow up in a rich musical environment, they can develop essential musical skills such as:
Music brings joy, confidence, and a sense of belonging. It is accessible to every child.
THE ROLE OF THE PARENT
The role of the parent is essential, regardless of personal musical experience. Young children learn most through imitation and interaction with the adults to whom they are most closely attached.
Parents create the environment in which the child develops — through attitude, presence, and shared experience. Supporting musical development is just as important as supporting speech, motor, and emotional development.
“Pillow Melodies” aims to give you confidence and practical ideas for becoming an active part of your child’s musical world — whether or not you consider yourself “musical.”
Recorded music can certainly be enjoyable, but on its own it is not enough. The most valuable experiences for children are live singing, movement, and the shared joy of music-making.
HOW DO CHILDREN RESPOND?
Every child has their own unique way of participating — some sing and dance spontaneously, while others prefer to observe and absorb.
Both approaches are completely natural. Even when a child appears uninterested, they are still learning and developing their musical ear. Often, what they have absorbed becomes visible later — at home or in another setting.
Most children relax and begin participating more actively after several sessions, once they feel secure within the atmosphere and routine.
YOU ARE YOUR CHILD’S MOST IMPORTANT TEACHER
The most valuable musical experiences for children are those in which parents participate with genuine enjoyment and enthusiasm. A “perfect” ear or voice is not necessary. What matters most is:

THE GOLDEN TIME FOR MUSICAL DEVELOPMENT
The first years of life are the most favorable period for developing fundamental musical abilities — especially up to the age of five. Musical potential can continue to develop until around the age of nine, but catching up later requires significantly more effort.
The most negative factor for musical development is the lack of musical stimulation.
Research shows that babies are born with sensitivity to rhythms and tonal systems from different cultures. Over time, this ability weakens if it is not nurtured. That is why in “Pillow Melodies” children listen to and experience music from different cultures, giving them the opportunity for richer and more complete development.

Seats are limited. The duration of the sessions from the “Pillow Melodies” series is 40 minutes.
