WHAT IS Sofia Art Institute?
Sofia Art Institute (SAI) is an independent organization dedicated to bringing the arts closer to the people of Bulgaria and expanding the community of culturally engaged people who have refined taste, and a lasting interest in music, visual and performing arts, literature, and theatre.
To achieve this mission, we curate a year-round program of meaningful cultural events across a wide range of genres, featuring both outstanding young Bulgarian talents and internationally acclaimed artists. The program is designed to engage audiences of all ages — from babies to adults — and its unique strength lies in the direct connection between audiences and performers. Through stories, live performances, and personal interaction, guests are drawn into the historical and cultural contexts of different artistic eras.
Our second major goal is to transform arts education for children and adults alike — both beginners and advanced learners. We offer an entirely new approach that combines:
- the development of broad general knowledge of the arts;
- in-depth study within a chosen artistic discipline;
- regular public performances and presentations.
We believe that every artist — whether preparing for a professional career or seeking personal growth through art — needs the support of outstanding mentors and a community of fellow learners with whom to grow and succeed together.
Today, we build on nearly 15 years of experience and numerous successful cultural projects. Among the most popular are the children’s “Pillow Concerts” and the chamber music series for adults, “Motif” and “Concerts with History”, all of which continue to enjoy a loyal and enthusiastic audience. Our plans for the coming months include chamber classical and jazz concerts, art and photography exhibitions, as well as the launch of the first activities from our educational program.
