Percussion Pillow Concert invites children and adults to join a joyful musical adventure with the students of Associate Professor Miroslav Dimov from the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” — Boris Yordanov, Iliyan Spasov, and Radost Tsenova. At the heart of the program are percussion instruments: the marimba with its warm sound, the vibraphone with its bright and magical timbre, as well as many other percussion instruments that ring, rustle, rumble, and create all kinds of rhythms.

From this encounter with the rich world of percussion instruments, true musical stories come to life, where rhythm becomes play and every performance turns into a new discovery.

Radost Tsenova (b. 2007) is a young Bulgarian percussionist and a second-year student at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov,” studying in the class of Associate Professor Dr. Miroslav Dimov. She began her musical education in 2012 at the National School of Arts “Panayot Pipkov” in Pleven, where she studied with G. Garnizov, S. Serafimov, and Ts. Tsvetanov.

Radost actively participates in international festivals and masterclasses, including the International Marimba and Percussion Festival (2021), as well as training programs with distinguished musicians such as Vassilena Serafimova and Jean-Baptiste Leclère.

She is a member of the percussion ensemble Accent, which received Second Prize and the Special Award for Outstanding Artistic Performance in memory of Stefan Vachev at the International Franz Schubert Competition in Ruse (2023). In 2025, she appeared twice as a soloist with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Academy of Music, and in 2026 she took part in the New Year tour of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in China.

Boris Yordanov (b. 2005, Sofia) is a Bulgarian percussionist and a second-year student at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov,” studying in the class of Associate Professor Dr. Miroslav Dimov. He graduated from the National School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov,” where he studied with Dobri Paliev Jr., Maria Palieva, and Miroslav Dimov.

He actively participates in concerts, representative performances, and masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Tatiana Koleva, Gordon Stout, Aleksandar Georgiev, Fabian Ziegler, and Emmanuel Séjourné. He is the recipient of numerous awards from national and international competitions, including first prizes in Pernik (2012) and at the “Varban Varbanov” Competition (2022), as well as distinctions from Burgas, Plovdiv, Moscow, and Marimba Festiva.

He has performed with leading ensembles such as the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Sofia Opera and Ballet, and the New Symphony Orchestra. Since 2026, following a successful audition, he has been a full-time orchestra member of the Sofia Opera and Ballet.

Iliyan Spasov is a Bulgarian percussionist and a first-year student at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov,” studying percussion in the class of Associate Professor Dr. Miroslav Dimov. He graduated from the National School of Arts “Dobri Hristov” in Varna, where he studied with Iskra Gramatikova.

He is the laureate of numerous national and international competitions, including First Prize at the German and Austrian Music Competition “MAGIC” (Burgas, 2023), First Prize at the “Varban Varbanov” Competition (2016), as well as awards from the “Svetoslav Obretenov” and “A Fairytale for You” competitions. In 2024, he also received Third Prize at the “Varban Varbanov” Competition.

He has appeared as a soloist with the Varna Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with the symphony and chamber orchestras of the National School of Arts “Dobri Hristov.” He is actively involved in concert life as an orchestral musician with the Varna and Shumen Philharmonic Orchestras. He has further developed his skills through masterclasses with Tatiana Koleva and Vassilena Serafimova, and has participated in international festivals in Plovdiv and Turkey.

“Pillow Concerts” are family events with no age restrictions.

The duration of each concert is approximately 50 minutes.

All concerts from the 2025/2026 season take place at Helikon Art, located at 6 Graf Ignatiev St., Sofia.
