As part of the “Concerts with History” series, pianist Veneta Neynska presents the program La Femme Fatale, which combines the refined piano language of Gabriel Fauré — one of the most delicate masters of French musical elegance — with the rarely performed music of Mel Bonis, a composer whose imagination transforms mythological and literary subjects into vivid piano images.

Phoebe, Viviane, Salome, Desdemona, Mélisande, and Omphale will appear like ethereal silhouettes — suspended between myth, literature, and the stage, much like the very idea of la femme fatale.

The program also includes three nocturnes by Gabriel Fauré, revealing the subtle melancholy and transparent harmonies of late nineteenth-century French music. Within this world of delicate nuances, Clair de lune naturally finds its place — a refined meeting point between the musical worlds of Gabriel Fauré and Mel Bonis.
