With a whirlwind of brass sound and energy, the Brass Pillow Concert will open the first edition of our “Children’s Days” festival. Children and adults alike are invited to a warm and inspiring atmosphere for a first encounter with classical music.

Pere Josep Tort Marcet (La Vila Joiosa, Spain) is Principal Trumpet of the Sofia National Opera and Ballet. He has also performed with the State Opera Plovdiv and collaborated with orchestras including the National Orchestra of Spain, Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Zaragoza, Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra, and Vratsa Symphony Orchestra.

He completed his studies in Alicante and Zaragoza and has performed extensively across Europe, working with artists such as José Carreras, Sonya Yoncheva, and Leonidas Kavakos under conductors including Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Daniel Oren.

Recently, he has been invited to serve as a jury member of the XII International Trumpet Competition of Stara Zagora.

Hristiyan Andreev Radoev was born on September 10, 1998, in Sofia. He graduated from the National School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov” and the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia, where he studied trumpet in the class of Prof. Atanas Dyulgerov.

Since 2018, he has served as principal trumpet of the orchestra of the National Musical Theatre “Stefan Makedonski”, and since 2022 he has also been a member of the trumpet section of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio.

Emil-George Atanasov graduated from the National School of Music in Sofia in 2012, studying tenor trombone in the class of Prof. Dr. Atanas Karafezliev. He continued his education at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under Prof. Eric Crees, where he graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in trombone performance. During this period, he also studied the sackbut — the Baroque trombone — with Prof. Emily White.

After returning from London, he joined the Sofia Opera and Ballet as an orchestral musician, where he continues to work today. He performs with various chamber ensembles and brass groups, exploring a wide range of musical styles — from early and Baroque music to contemporary repertoire.

Alongside his performing career, Emil-George Atanasov is also active as a teacher of trombone and wind ensembles.

Tsvetelina Zankova was born in 2006 in Sofia. In 2020, she was admitted to the National School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov,” where she studies French horn in the class of Krasimir Kostadinov.

She has received awards from numerous national and international competitions. In 2025, she appeared as a soloist with the Youth Philharmonic “Sofia”, performing the first movement of Richard Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1.

She participated in the Rosa Academy in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and during the last two editions she was selected as principal French horn. In 2025, she appeared as a soloist with the Rosa Academy, performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 1, while once again serving as principal horn of the orchestra.
